Is Pesto Healthy?
Gone are the days of shying away from fats! This healthy condiment, like My Famous Hummus Recipe, and my classic guacamole, are great sources of dietary fats that should be regularly included in a healthy diet.
Meals high in healthy fats, like the unsaturated fats found in nuts, avocados, and olive oil, and satiating and contain essential nutrients our bodies need to thrive.
Making pesto couldn’t be easier. Just whiz some greens in your food processor, add nuts (almonds are a favorite of mine, but try cashews, pine nuts or walnuts for a variation), garlic and parmesan cheese, then drizzle in some lemon juice and olive oil.
My family enjoys having pesto to add to a variety of dishes. It’s a great topping for so many dishes, and adds an elegant flavor punch.
